International Conference Calls
AccuConference offers toll free dial in from the US and Canada at 7.9¢ per minute and toll free access from the United Kingdom at 14.9¢ per minute. (out-dialing to the UK is 7.9¢ per minute) If you have conference participants in countries other than the US, Canada, or UK, you have a couple options for bringing them into your conferences.
1. International Out-dial
The first option is definitely the least expensive method. You can out-dial to over 30 other countries for the same low 7.9¢ per minute that you pay for US and Canadian participants. Other countries will incur a surcharge.
Important: The out-dial feature is not automatically activated on new accounts. To activate it, wait until you receive the email confirmation of your new account, then fill out the International out-dial form and fax it to the toll free number listed on the form.
Out-dial is particularly useful when you want international participants to join your conference calls. It can save your organization a considerable amount of money and the participants can join the conference call without incurring any personal expense.
Out-dial is also used by many organizations when they need to bring a U.S. participant into a conference call that is already in session. It can be used as a courtesy to professionals such as judges or consultants when you need to temporarily bring them into a conference call.
The conference call moderator (or any other participant who has been granted out-dial permissions), can dial out to a participant. This is done by first joining the conference bridge, then pressing *1 on their touch tone phone. The moderator is temporarily removed from the conference call and dials the phone number of the desired participant.
Once the moderator has the new participant on the line, they press *2 on their telephone keypad to return to the conference with the new participant. If they wish to return to the conference call without the participant, they would press *3.
The process can be repeated as many times as necessary to get all the participants into the conference call.
Automate the Out-dial process
You can automatically out-dial to participants from your LIVE CALL control panel. While on the call, log into your AccuConference account and choose LIVE CALL. This will bring up a control panel for your conference call that has a place to insert a phone number to out-dial to. Enter the phone number and click GO. The AccuConference computer system will do the dialing for you. (note: although it's a computer doing the dialing, it is dialing over fiber optic lines, not VoIP.)
If you have more than one participant that you want to out-dial to, you can create a contact group in the contacts area of your account management site prior to the call. Then you can have the system out-dial to them all simultaneously from the LIVE CALL control panel. Your participant's phones will ring and they will each be presented with the option to join the call, reject the call, or have the system call them back in 5 minutes. To create contacts and groups in your account, log into your account and click on your email address in the upper right hand corner of the main screen. Then choose the contacts link on the resulting page.

2. International Toll Free Numbers
The second way to have international participants join your conference call is to establish an international conference and have your participants call a toll free number in their country. This option is limited to the countries where we have toll free numbers and is generally more expensive than the out-dial option. For more information, click here.
